Tech giant NVIDIA today announced the establishment of its first research and development center in Vietnam, underscoring its confidence in the nation’s burgeoning AI sector.
The company is collaborating with the Vietnamese government to launch the Vietnam Research and Development Center, with a focus on AI software development.
Leveraging Vietnam’s robust pool of STEM talent, NVIDIA aims to engage industry leaders, startups, government agencies, universities, and students to accelerate AI adoption across various sectors.
“We are delighted to open NVIDIA’s R&D center to accelerate Vietnam’s AI journey,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “With our expertise in AI development, we will partner with a vibrant ecosystem of researchers, startups and enterprise organizations to build incredible AI right here in Vietnam.”
The Vietnam R&D Center will serve as a hub for AI innovation, providing valuable platforms for NVIDIA and its partners. Researchers and startups will have access to cutting-edge infrastructure to develop AI applications for key industries such as healthcare, education, transportation, and finance.
Vietnam: A rising star in the global AI landscape
Vietnam’s rapid economic growth, fueled by its expanding manufacturing sector in technology, automotive, electronics, and textiles, has positioned it as a key player in the global economy.
The country’s AI market has also experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by technological advancements, government support, and increased AI integration across various industries.
Since 2021, Vietnam has prioritized AI development as a core component of its digital transformation strategy. This initiative aims to foster innovation, cultivate a robust AI ecosystem, and establish Vietnam as a regional leader in AI research and development.

NVIDIA’s longstanding commitment to Vietnam’s tech ecosystem
NVIDIA has been actively investing in Vietnam’s technology ecosystem for the past eight years. The company engages with over 100 Vietnamese AI startups through its Inception program and collaborates with 65 universities across the country.
Last year, NVIDIA partnered with FPT Smart Cloud, marking its first Vietnamese cloud collaboration.
