True Corporation is significantly enhancing its 5G network, launching Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) technology on the 2600MHz band. This innovative implementation, first introduced in Bangkok’s bustling Thonglor district, will soon expand nationwide, ensuring over 14.2 million 5G subscribers (as of Q1/2025) on TrueMove H and dtac experience superior speeds and performance for both 5G and 4G.
DSS technology intelligently and automatically adjusts spectrum allocation in real-time between 5G and 4G on the 2600MHz band, optimizing bandwidth utilization based on actual user demand. Unlike traditional fixed-allocation methods, DSS allows the entire 2600 MHz band to be used for 5G when demand is high, and then flexibly shifts to accommodate increased 4G users as needed. This ensures maximum efficiency, providing the best possible experience for all users at any given moment.
Boosting Network Power with 2300MHz
Further strengthening its network, True Corporation’s recent acquisition of 70MHz on the 2300MHz mid-band spectrum will enhance 4G services, allowing the 2600MHz band to be fully optimized for 5G. This strategic move ensures both 5G and 4G users will benefit from a truly elevated network experience, overcoming previous limitations.
Thonglor was chosen as the pilot location due to its status as a high-potential area in Bangkok, a vibrant hub integrating business, lifestyle, and a diverse user base including young professionals, businesspeople, and expatriates.
Sigve Brekke, Group CEO of True Corporation, along with network engineers, conducted on-site testing in Thonglor, signaling True’s ongoing commitment to continuously upgrade its high-performance 5G and 4G networks across key areas nationwide.
