Unilever appoints Anshul Asawa as Country Head for Thailand

Unilever, has appointed Anshul Asawa as Country Head for Thailand. In this pivotal role, Asawa not only spearheads Unilever Thailand’s strategic vision, overseeing fiduciary and statutory aspects of the business, but also champions local culture, nurtures talent, and harnesses the collective strength of the organization. His mission is to drive Unilever Thailand as a high-performing, global leader in sustainable business and strengthen its leadership stature in the country. Additionally, Mr. Asawa takes on the role of General Manager for the Home Care Southeast Asia Business Unit, leveraging his extensive expertise in Home Care categories across the world.

With a distinguished 29-year career at Unilever, Mr. Asawa brings a wealth of experience in marketing, sales, digital commerce, and general management across local, regional, and global roles. His track record of driving performance, managing change, and ensuring profitability through sharp strategies, innovation, market development, and front-end execution positions him as an ideal leader for this important role. His deep understanding of the consumer goods industry, coupled with his passion for building strong brands and driving sustainable growth through people, will be invaluable as Unilever continues to serve its consumers in this dynamic country and region.

Anshul started his career at Unilever with the Indian Foods and Refreshments business. After a brief stint in the global customer team based in Netherlands, in 2007 he was appointed as General Manager for the Eastern region in India.  There, he helped digitize and transform the rural channel, leading the ‘Shakti’ program that enabled women in remote rural areas to become micro-entrepreneurs and improve their livelihoods. Subsequently in 2010, he held roles as Vice President Marketing Operations for South Asia, Regional Category Vice President for South Asia, and Global Vice President for Radiant. His leadership contributed to long-term portfolio transformation initiatives such as Surf Excel Easywash, Liquids format entry, and Radiant repositioning.

In 2015, Anshul moved to Europe as Vice President Marketing Home Care, leading the business across all European countries. Three years later, he was appointed Global Vice President for Digital, eCommerce, and Customer Development for Home Care Business Group, as well as the General Manager for our Home Care Professional business. In his role as Customer Development head for the Business Group, Anshul has helped create a robust Customer Development program and capabilities focused on the Customer Strategy and Planning organization in the last year.
